King crab & seafood factory with king crab mealDate: Thursday 1 aug 2019 - Sunday 31 May 2020
During this fun and educational tour you will learn all about the number 1 industry in the North Cape municipality. Visit an active seafood factory and enjoy a plate of king crab, one of the most exclusive products the Barents Sea has to offer.
As the largest exporter of live king crab worldwide, our host prefers the term seafood factory instead of fish factory. The red king crab is considered a delicacy in many countries around the globe and even in Norway prices for this enormous crustacean can be quite steep.
Your guide will take you around the entire factory and tell you about the production of stockfish, klipfish, fresh fish, king crab and less common items such as roe, liver, fish heads and much more.
The tour finishes with a king crab meal, served the traditional way with bread, mayonnaise and lemon juice. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages can be purchased additionally.
Make sure to wear sturdy (waterproof) footwear and keep your camera ready for a close encounter with a king crab.
3 reasons to book now:
