Cabin | We offer accommodation in Bugøynes: holiday apartments and cabins. Most are newly renovated.
Accommodation is distributed around the village of Bugøynes, in different houses.
The Olga house: Larger detached house over two levels set up by the Pleym family in the early 60s and completed in 1964. The Pleym family was well-kept and the design and areas of the house reflect this. The home was bought by the Haldorsen family in 2004 after Olga passed away in 2002. The home has been used for rental since then. Varanger Brygge took over the home in winter 2021 and has now completely renovated the entire home. The main floor has 6 beds in 3 bedrooms, 2 new, inviting bathrooms have also been established. The kitchen is large and spacious with a dining area and in the living room there is plenty of space and a great wood stove. On the first floor, there are 4 beds in 2 bedrooms, a new large bathroom and an open kitchen/living room solution with all facilities. Everything newly renovated winter 2021.
Dagrunhuset: Older detached house set up in the mid-1950s by Dagrun and his family. Already at the end of the 1950s, the house had a second floor built on when there was a need for more space. The house has been owned by the Ingilæ family until autumn 2020 when Varanger Brygge took over the property. The home appears well-maintained and cozy and has plenty of space for 6 people in 3 spacious bedrooms. The bathroom is well equipped, as is the kitchen. TV lounge and library nook are in the attic.
The prayer house: The village's assembly hall from its construction in the early 1950s until the church was completed in 1989. Weddings, funerals, Laestadian gatherings and other activities took place in the prayer house. Varanger Brygge bought the house from the Laestadian assembly in spring 2021 and will completely renovate the building so that it appears as a modern detached house inside, while the outside appears almost identical to when it was built. This work will be completed by the 2022 season.
Gunnariveien 5: Gunnariveien 5 has been owned by the Nilsen family since the house's origin and today 3 and 4 generation descendants own the house. The home has been expanded several times and today has 10-12 beds in total. We in Varanger Brygge are so lucky that we have reached an agreement with the house's owners to let the main floor, which contains 4 good beds, a large kitchen, a large bathroom and living room and corridor areas. These areas are of a very good standard. In the long term, the plan is for the house to be upgraded further and, when fully utilised, 10-12 beds will be available. The house is very centrally located in Bugøynes, 50 meters from Bugøynes Bistro and 100 meters from the docks. Outside there are beautiful terraces and good sunny conditions. Here is a house with a lot of soul and history.
Jaameren cabin: Right by the beach in Bugøynes are four small wooden cabins. Each of the cabins has two beds. They have a simple standard, but the view is priceless. The cabins face north towards the Varangerfjord, and in the summer you will be able to enjoy the midnight sun reflected in the sea all night. Adjacent to the wooden cabins is a larger cabin, called Aurorahuset. This can be used by guests in the cabins.
The Jaameren sauna is also right next to the cabins and can be booked in addition, see more info under Jaameren sauna.
